Amanda is a senior teaching fellow and qualified registered nurse. Her background is in community nursing, where she specialised in district nursing and multiple sclerosis. Following a number of years in practice, Amanda chose to move into higher education and came to work at Birmingham City University in 2004. Amanda left to return to practice, before returning to the University again in 2017.
Current Activity
Outside of the University, Amanda is an external examiner for Staffordshire University, where she reviews first and second year modules on the nursing degree programme.

Teaching
Amanda currently works on the first year module on the Pre-Qualifying Nursing Degree – Introduction to Nursing Practice and Decision Making, which involves a number of skills session to prepare the students for their first placements in practice. She also supports second year modules reflective of my skill set.
