The Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences, based at City Centre Campus, offers an innovative learning environment, as well as outstanding facilities and resources.

Cutting edge

We specialise in the fields of business, law, criminology, sociology and psychology, and have a strong record of teaching, research and consultancy.

We remain at the cutting edge of new ideas by challenging both staff and students to excel in research and studies.

We are able to offer a wide variety of academically rigorous, vocationally focused courses on a flexible basis, and support lifelong learning through the delivery of short courses and seminars for individuals and larger bespoke groups.

Accreditations

We are highly recognised for the quality of our academic programmes. A significant amount of our courses have accreditations from professional bodies, giving our students an advantage when seeking employment opportunities.

The Business School is highly recognised for a significant amount of its provision having accreditation from professional bodies. These include the: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA),The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), The Institute of Risk Management (IRM)and many more.

Our LLB is accredited by the Joint Academic Stage Board, which represents the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board of England and Wales. The School of Law is fully accredited by the Law Society and the Bar Council as a Centre for Continuing Professional Development.

Our undergraduate and postgraduate social sciences courses have achieved international and national recognition from professional bodies. All Psychology programmes must be professionally accredited and our courses have British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation.

Our Centre for Applied Criminology - founded by David Wilson, one of the UK's leading criminologists - is a University research Centre of Excellence.

Move to City Centre Campus 2015

In September 2015 all business, law and social sciences courses moved to be taught at our City Centre Campus – and specifically The Curzon Building. The £63m building offers students a unique social learning space, including a dedicated student hub incorporating student support services, in the heart of Birmingham's Eastside development.
