Help and support

Hollie: Hi I'm Holly, and I'm a student mentor for Birmingham City University Library. We're here at the School of Art, and I'm going to show you on a tour of the School of Art Library. This is where we keep our supply of laptops. So don't worry. If you've forgotten your own device, you can always borrow one of us now. Let's go and study. So this is the Help Desk, and one of our friendly members of staff will be here to help you with any issue you may have while you're in the library.

Christian: Take a look at your library and Learning Resources website for all the ways that you can get in touch. Help is also available 24/7 through your chat service.

Hollie: There are lots of quiet study spaces with computers for students to use, and we have lots of books on offer here at BCU for you to use in your studies. At the end of each row that are shelf numbers and topics listed on that shelf to make finding things even easier.

These are the library search computers where you can locate items on the library shelves. And as a BCU student, you're going to have access to millions of electronic resources and thousands of books. I prefer to use the library search on my phone because I can access a library anywhere at any time.

If you want to take out a book or return a book, you use this machine here. Don't worry. If you don't know how to use it, just scan that QR code and it'll give you everything you need to know.

These are our printers at BCU and every BCU student gets £5 printing credit for all their printing needs. But don't worry if you don't know how to use the printers, because this QR code. I'll tell you everything that you need to know.

Thank you for watching this tour. And if you have any other questions, please head over to the BCU website where you'll find all the answers. Bye.
