Public thrown into darkness at student’s visual impairment exhibition

UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 19 AUGUST 2015

Members of the public are to experience what it really means to be visually impaired this weekend as a Birmingham City University student launches a new exhibition testing sensory perceptions.

The 'Hidden Exhibition', held at the University's Birmingham School of Acting, will welcome visitors to identify parts of Birmingham through their sense of smell, touch and sound.

"I wanted to produce something creative and different in an unconventional way", said postgraduate student Zsolt Holovacsko.

The immersive experience, open from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August, has been produced by Zsolt as part of his Events and Exhibition Management degree at the University's Birmingham School of Media.

The event is free to attend, with donations welcome for the Blind Children UK charity.
