AHRC Midlands4Cities PhD funding for UK and International Applicants

The AHRC-funded Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership (M4C) brings together eight leading universities across the Midlands, to support research students to become experts in their field and to employ their knowledge and skills in their career destinations.

M4C is a collaboration between the University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, University of Warwick, Coventry University, University of Leicester, De Montfort University, Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham.

AHRC funding is open to all UK and International students who meet the academic and residency eligibility criteria as detailed in the M4C application guidance.

Recruitment for 2024/25 will open on Monday 16 October 2023.

The deadline for AHRC funding applications is 10 January 2024, 12pm GMT. The application for a Midlands4Cities studentship is a two-part process: applying for a place to study and applying for funding. It is essential that you read the Midlands4Cities applicant guidance notes before starting your application.

Applying to study at Birmingham City University for Midlands4Cities 

Please download the expression of interest form, complete it and send it to M4C@bcu.ac.uk. This will ensure that you receive all BCU-specific guidance for applying for M4C funding.

In order to ensure that there is sufficient time to develop a full application, the deadline for the submission of an expression of interest is 17 November 2023. If you miss this deadline and would still like to be considered, please contact M4C@bcu.ac.uk.
