Ardavan Amini is currently a Professor, and the Director of the Enterprise Systems Lab at Birmingham City University. He graduated from UCE (now Birmingham City University) in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology and began work as an enterprise systems engineer in industry. He then rejoined the University to study for an MSc in Data Networks and Software Engineering.

During this time, he was hired by the Technology Innovation Centre as a Technology Transfer Consultant, delivering enterprise systems solutions to small and medium-sized businesses across the West Midlands.

Ardavan is an advisor to Birmingham City Council on systems integration and Smart Cities, and he is also the chairman of SAP Database, Technology and Innovation User Group for UK and Ireland. He is an honorary SAP Visionary member, a group of 26 international academics who have contributed to SAP’s academic, research and product knowledge and expertise worldwide.

He has published five international conference papers and his work has focused on addressing industrial demands and requirements in the area of enterprise systems and knowledge-based engineering.
