We are a large and vibrant institution, providing a stimulating and dynamic educational environment for all of our students. Situated in the UK's 'second city' and catering for over 4,500 postgraduate students (around 23,500 including undergraduates), we are rightly seen as an educational powerhouse both nationally and abroad. As an institution we have a long-standing and distinctive focus on research, professional training and creative practice.
We encourage our undergraduate students to continue their studies with us. Here are just two students who selected our postgraduate courses.
"While doing my undergraduate degree, I was employed by the University itself. I worked at CELT (Centre for Enhancement of Learning and Teaching) on a mentoring programme which was put in place to increase the level of engagement and retention within the University. I strongly believe that this job helped me get a place on the PGCE course."
