Employability

Students’ whole experience at Birmingham City University contributes to successful employability. We specialise in preparing students for professional careers both upon graduation and throughout life. Our employability work is carefully integrated into the learning experience.

Birmingham City University has an innovative approach to employability. It is deeply embedded into all our courses and there are strong support structures for all students, including those with disabilities, to assist in obtaining interesting and well paid graduate jobs. All our courses involve employers in design and often in delivery; more than 120 courses are recognised by professional bodies; each course incorporates extensive employability skills training; we offer many opportunities for placements; and student entrepreneurship and enterprise feature prominently. Professional and student mentors are also on hand to support students. We help individuals develop intellectually, personally and socially.
