Six places that make Digbeth one of the coolest places in the UK

Just a stone’s throw away from our City Centre Campus is an area called Digbeth. Nicknamed the creative quarter, Digbeth has been placed at the top of the “Coolest Neighbourhoods in Britain” list by the Sunday Times. Digbeth has everything from vast amounts of street art to a zero-waste bar. We’ve shortlisted the six places that we think contribute to Digbeth and its latest accolade.

1. The Night Owl

Looking for a hit of nostalgia and weekly live music? The Night Owl, one of the finest soul and retro bars in Birmingham, has you covered. Expect Motown, ska, funk, disco, garage, psychedelia, rock and roll, Britpop, indie, punk and more for some serious grooves.

2. The Custard Factory

A collection of independent shops, creative and digital businesses plus event spaces, there’s always something happening.

3. Baked in Brick

A must-go when in Digbeth for wood-fired pizza or BBQ meat made in a mini cooper.

4. Cow Vintage

A huge warehouse full of vintage clothing at affordable prices.

5. Golf Fang

Crazy golf in crazy settings with crazy good cocktails and food. It's something you need to try for yourself.

6. Red Brick Market

With over 50 independent artists, designers and sellers under one roof, you'll be supporting local businesses in this treasure trove of unique shops.

So whether your thing is crazy golf in abandoned busses or eating food cooked in a classic British motor, Digbeth has something for you.
