Graduate Outcomes Survey
The Graduate Outcomes Survey is a national survey of everyone who has recently qualified from any University or HE college in the UK.
The survey gathers information on the range of career and further study opportunities pursued by leavers 15 months after completing their studies. The survey is a statutory process for all higher education providers and is owned by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and takes just five minutes to complete.
In the survey, you can expect to be asked about your work and study. For work, this will include questions regarding your job title and employer name, if it's full-time or part-time work, if it is considered to be a graduate-level job and whether you believe the qualification you recently obtained was necessary for your job.
For further study, this will include questions about what and where you are studying, what kind of study you are engaged in and the reasons for taking further study.
We really do want to know what you’re doing now that you’ve left University and the survey is the perfect opportunity to find out how things are going for you.
The survey also allows us to see if there are any trends and patterns in employment, whether graduates in certain subjects are experiencing any problems securing a job or further study. We can also use the graduate outcomes survey information to let future and current students know about opportunities that might be available to them so that they can make informed choices about course and career options.
If you left university on or after 1 August 2017, you will receive an email approximately 15 months after completing your studies, inviting you to complete the survey online.
You may also be contacted by telephone and asked to complete the survey. If you are not contactable, HESA may seek the information from a third party, such as a family member. It’s important to ensure your details are up-to-date so HESA can get in touch with you:
