Our Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduates have gone on to star in or work behind the scenes of television shows, blockbuster movies and stage productions. Check out what some of our talented Alumni are up to this month.
Alumna nominated for TV BAFTA
Nicola Coughlan has been nominated for a BAFTA for her role in Big Mood, created by fellow alumna Camilla Whitehill. She's also nominated for the P&O Cruises Memorable moment category for the Carriage Scene in Bridgerton. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday 11th May.
Acting alumnus joins cast of CBBC show
Nigel Boyle, who graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2002, was on BBC Breakfast this month talking about his role in Line of Duty whilst promoting his new show, High Hoops, in which he plays the school basketball coach Jim.
Graduate secures place at National Opera Studio
Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Performance graduate Henry Reavey will hone his skills as a répétiteur on the Young Artists’ Programme at the National Opera Studio.
Alumna cast in Opera run by fellow graduate
Rebecca MacGregor-Black has been cast as 'Flora' in Cumbria Opera Festival's 'Turn of the Screw', which is run by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire alumnus, Joe Davies. It will be performed at Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands on 29th & 30th August 2025.
Alumna appointed Assistant Director
Katie Hackman has been appointed as Assistant Director on Royal Opera House's 'Turandot', Puccini’s three-act opera which features the famous aria ‘Nessun dorma’.
Alumna cast in Opera production
Victoria Harley has got a Principal role in Wexford Opera's production of 'Der Zwerg'. This month, she also visited Welsh National Opera on behalf of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
