O’Bryan Grandison joined BCU in April 2024 as a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Professional Policing degree.

He has over 30 years’ experience as an operational police officer. He spent time in a number of policing teams including response policing, neighbourhood or community policing, Central Traffic and Motorway Departments, the Operational Support Unit (a force-wide response and problem solving team), managing teams in the delivery of ICT projects, Leadership and Management, initial police officer training and physical and First Aid Training.

O’Bryan led on the delivery of partnership working across the West Midlands, and had some regional and national presence on organisational change and policy development. The latter in particular focused on delivering ministerial priorities following the Stephen Lawrence Enquiry.

Post policing, O'Bryan has provided consultancy to small and medium sized enterprises on improving performance outcomes and productivity both in the UK and mainland Europe.

He has also delivered degree level professional Management and Leadership and business programmes, Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Marketing programmes through the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

As a performance coach he delivers personal coaching to aspiring managers and business executives. His values, skills and interests are underpinned by delivering people centred learning, to assist in the retention and development of employees.
