Dr Lily Hamourtziadou

Lily has a PhD in International Relations, having completed a thesis on ‘National Truths: Justifications and Self-Justifications of three Nationalisms in Bosnia Herzegovina’ at Keele University. 

Lily is the principal researcher and analyst of the NGO Iraq Body Count, which has been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Lily's book addresses the significance of casualty recording for the protection and promotion of human rights, and evaluates the impact of war from a human security perspective. Her second book will be published in 2024 and Lily is currently working on her next book.
