Dr Bobbie-Jane Gardner

Bobbie-Jane Gardner’s music has been described as “lyrical”, “harmonically subtle and rhythmically agile” and often takes as inspiration the sound worlds of jazz, Hip-Hop, soul and funk. She has received commissions from the CBSO, LSO, Spitalfields Music, Onyx Brass, G Plus Ensemble, Wild Plum Arts and others.

Collaboration plays a key part in Bobbie-Jane’s practice and her most ambitious project was a citywide musical ode to her hometown called for-Wards, working with over 800 Brummies. She often collaborates with filmmaker Brian Cross (B+) to champion the work of arrangers.
