Bass Trombone Tutor
Bass trombonist Dan West has established himself as a busy & versatile musician since moving to London in 2005. Dan performs & is often recorded with London’s top orchestras, has played on major Hollywood soundtracks, and from 2015 until 2020 was trombonist in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera. As a member of the London-based chamber ensemble Septura, Dan has been recorded for each of their critically acclaimed Music for Brass Septet albums for Naxos & has toured with the group internationally to places as far-reaching as New Zealand & Japan. Dan can frequently be found performing with South London-based brass band Old Dirty Brasstards, whose unique brass arrangements of the world’s biggest pop hits have entertained thousands of people at major festivals such as Glastonbury & in huge venues around the UK. Raised in Canada, Dan moved to the United States to receive his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas before moving to the UK to earn a Post Graduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Bob Hughes. As a Conn-Selmer performing artist Dan performs exclusively on Conn bass trombones.
