Peter studied clarinet at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and then completed his studies at the Royal College of Music, on the Postgraduate Performance Diploma course. Since then, he has performed in countries across the world.

He has received numerous scholarships and awards, including First Prize in the Shell Chamber Music Competition, and was a Finalist at the Royal Oversea League Competition. He has given broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 including Messiaen’s ‘Quatour pour la fin de temps’.

Alongside his work at Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Peter has been an ensemble director at both Derby and South Derbyshire Music Centres since 2002, working with Senior Wind Band, Intermediate Wind Band and the clarinet ensembles.

He is an accredited teacher for Derby and Derbyshire Music Partnership and also teaches the clarinet at Trent College, Nottingham.
