Yvonne was appointed as a flute teacher at Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2022. She has gained a reputation as a well-respected, prominent flute teacher through her work at a number of independent schools, her leadership of masterclasses and workshops both nationally and internationally, and her involvement in educational outreach programmes with chamber groups and professional orchestras.
Yvonne is in regular demand as a performer and has played with many orchestras and chamber ensembles alongside giving solo recitals. She has also recorded various projects for radio, television and film, working closely with composers such as Neil Stemp, Vincent Watts and Michael Price.
After studying with Alan Lockwood at the University of Huddersfield, Yvonne moved to the Midlands to study with Colin Lilley and Elena Duran at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has participated in masterclasses with flautists including Wissam Boustany, Susan Milan, Kirsten Spratt, Angela Koregelos, Alexa Still, and Atarah Ben-Tovim.
In teaching, Yvonne aims to provide a motivating and nurturing environment in which students can progress and learn to express themselves through music. Within a creative and encouraging lesson structure, each student is encouraged to discover their individual musical styles.
