Jonas Schauer organ
Programme to include works by Bach, Karg-Elert and Whitlock
Jonas Schauer (born 2001 in Germany) received his first organ lessons at the age of twelve. A multiple winner of the German national youth competition 'Jugend musiziert', and has also achieved notable success at the international level, including at the International Organ Competition in Northern Ireland in 2020 and the Royal College of Organists Organ Competition in Edinburgh in 2022. In 2023, he was awarded first prize at the Wuppertal International Organ Competition.
He has participated in numerous masterclasses with Daniel Roth, Wolfgang Seifen, Thierry Escaich and Henry Fairs, among others, as well as studying with Ken Cowan at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Having been awarded a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation, he is currently studying for a Master's degree in Church Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig with Martin Schmeding, Thomas Lennartz (organ) and Andreas Reize (choral conducting).
