David Ebner (pictured)
Having started to play piano at age six, David Ebney’s music career was impulsed early on by a series of formative lessons and masterclasses with star pianist Maria João Pires. By age sixteen, he was a member of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. His performances at iconic venues throughout Europe included four of Beethoven’s five piano concertos, as well as concertos by Mozart, Chopin, and Schumann. During his undergraduate studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, David published recordings of works by Scarlatti and Chopin before graduating top of his class in 2022.
In recent years, David’s encounter with the French pianist and piano pedagogue Pascal Nemirovski at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire has transformed his understanding of music. Under his tutelage, he is exploring new ways how piano music can contribute to life in the 21st century. Currently, he is pursuing an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma, generously supported by a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship.
Roberto Rúmenov
Widely-recognised by the media as a "pianist of impressive strength of execution" (José Antonio Cantón, Codalario Magazine), Roberto Rúmenov, born in 2000, is a highly sought-after Bulgarian pianist whose artistry continues to garner widespread acclaim.
Rúmenov has achieved recognition in numerous national and international piano competitions. His two most recent significant successes were winning 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the prestigious Premio Jaén International Piano Competition (April 2024) and winning 2nd Prize at International Ferrol Competition (November 2024). He has also secured 1st Prizes at some of Spain's top competitions for young artists, including the Intercentros Melómano and Juventudes Musicales de Albacete. He is currently pursuing an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, under the guidance of Pascal Nemirovski.
