This special concert involving students from the string, keyboard and vocal departments marks one of a number of RBC events in the 100th anniversary year of Gabriel Fauré's death.

The central work of the concert will be La bonne chanson arranged by the composer for voice, piano and string quintet and claimed by him to be one of his most spontaneous creations.

Further works will include music by composers who moved within the colourful French salons of Pauline Viardot and her circle.
