Anna Thirkettle
Relive some of the West End’s magical musical moments in a night filled with captivating performances by RBC’s multi-talented woodwind stars.
Join us for an unforgettable celebration of the world of woodwind doubling. This unique concert showcases a dazzling array of instruments, featuring inventive arrangements of beloved musical theatre songs for clarinet choir and woodwind doubling quartet, and virtuosic solo performances. The programme pays tribute to the unsung heroes of the pit orchestra, the woodwind players who seamlessly transition between instruments, a skill often hidden below the stage in musical theatre productions.
The relaxed cabaret-style seating invites you to enjoy the concert in a comfortable and intimate setting, creating the perfect atmosphere to connect with the music and the performers.
This concert is led by Anna Thirkettle, and features clarinettists, saxophonists and flautists from RBC’s woodwind department, joined by a pianist and percussionist. The musicians, including those on the new woodwind multi-instrumental performance course, have the opportunity to showcase their talents on their first, second and third study instruments.
This concert lasts approximately 2 hours including an interval.
