Opera Répétiteur at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

Join the flourishing Vocal Department at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and learn the essential skills necessary to become a successful répétiteur. As well as receiving one-to-one tuition in this specialist area you will take an active part in coaching our young singers and playing for singing lessons and classes. You will also be able to hone your language skills in weekly lessons in Italian, French, German and Russian and attend stagecraft and movement classes to deepen your understanding of theatrical performance.

The Vocal Department currently embarks on three staged productions a year and you would be an essential part of this process, playing for rehearsals and assisting conductors. There is also the possibility to act as Chorus Master on certain projects for those interested in this area.

We are also able to offer links with the Royal Opera House, Opera North and Welsh National Opera and the possibility to work with music staff from these institutions. Short placements may also be available to observe how a répétiteur fits into a professional context.
