Julie Haynes
Julie works for Fashion Design and has many years of sewing experience having worked in the industry on mass production, with experiences in roles such as a sample machinist and supervisor. She also has experience with working on alterations from tailored garments to evening wear and many others.
Julies role as a technician includes offering student’s her expert knowledge and advice on a wide range of specialist machinery that the University has to offer in the Fashion workroom, which includes; Lockstitch machine, 3 and 4 thread overlockers, baby overlocker, twin needle machine, zig-zag machine, coverseam machine, walking foot machine and postbed leather machine and buttonhole machine.
As a technician, Julie also demonstrates various processes of garment construction, and support L6 students with the construction of their final garments. She also helps with preparation for external and internal Fashion shows.
