Faisal Saeed

Faisal Saeed is an Associate Professor at the College of Computing and Digital Technology, Birmingham City University. He leads the MSc Artificial Intelligence course and Research Summer School at the College. Previous he worked as an Assistant and Associate Professor at the Information Systems Department, Taibah University, KSA (2017-2021), and as a Senior Lecturer at the Information Systems Department, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) (2014-2017).

He obtained his BSc in Computers (Information Technology) from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2005, followed by a MSc in Information Technology Management and a PhD in Computer Science from UTM in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Faisal's research interests include data mining, artificial intelligence, machine learning, information retrieval, and health informatics. He has an outstanding publication record in prestigious high-impact factor journals and international conferences.

Moreover, Faisal has secured 21 research funds (as PI/Co-PI) from various sponsors in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, totaling about £950,500. He has served as Lead of Smart Health Lab (BCU), Head of Data Science Research Group (Taibah University), Head of Research Unit (Taibah University), General Chair of 12 International Conferences, and Associate/Guest Editor of 25 Scopus and ISI Journals. He received several research awards from different institutions and innovation exhibitions.
