Higher Level Skills Match Plus (HLSM Plus) is a unique, fully funded service designed to bridge the gap between talented graduates like you and leading employers in Birmingham.
Led by Birmingham City University and supported by a consortium of top universities -including Aston University, University College Birmingham, and the University of Birmingham – HLSM Plus collaborates with local businesses and key partners like the Department for Work and Pensions, Job Centre Plus and National Careers Service. Together, we’re committed to helping you achieve your career goals and ensuring that Birmingham remains a city where talent can thrive.
Supporting you to secure graduate level employment
The Higher Level Skills Match (HLSM) Plus service will provide you with access to a personal Graduate Consultant that will support you to secure a graduate level job role.
We will understand what roles you are looking for and provide a recruitment style service to source vacancies that suit your needs. We will take care of the interview arrangements and support you with the right level of job and interview preparation to give you the best chance of success.
If you secure a role, we will be on hand to support you for the first 12 months of employment.

Am I eligible?
To use the HLSM Plus service, you must be:
- Living in Birmingham or Solihull
- A University graduate
- Graduated within the last 3 years
How much will it cost me?
There is no fee for using our HLSM Plus service and no candidate placement commission is charged.
