The STEAM Fashion Exhibition 2024, supported by STEAMhouse and the College of Jewellery, Fashion and Textiles, captivated audiences with its ground-breaking fusion of innovation, social responsibility, and creativity.
This year's exhibition, supported as part of the STEAM Fellowship program and held at the Shell BCU Parkside campus, serves as a unifying platform for Birmingham City University and local communities, showcasing the remarkable achievements of students across disciplines and schools.Under the visionary leadership of Nataliya Rozhin, Lecturer on MA Fashion and Textiles programme, the exhibition in an academic setting embodies the essence of STEAM innovation, in this case blending elements of reality and virtuality challenging stereotypes in fashion while addressing real-world challenges.
This year’s collaborative exhibition motto is ‘Cactus World Views’, inspired by ‘The Joshua Tree’ U2 album, an emotional reminder of the continuing need for responsible creative work, particularly in times of global challenges.
