On Thursday 10 October Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for BLSS Professor Keith Horton hosted the annual BCU alumni event in Shanghai. The gathering was organised and supported by the BCU China Office, led by Regional Director – China, Mark Cai.

The event was attended by more than 50 alumni, students and colleagues, with some attendees travelling from Hong Kong for the event. Attendees took the opportunity to meet Professor Horton and hear more about recent developments at their University.

Professor Horton said: “It was an enormously valuable event, and one that alumni, students and colleagues look forward to attending again in the future.

“These events illustrate how keen our alumni are to engage with their University, to hear more about what has been happening and plans for the future, as well as to network with contacts and friends, new and old. I think that these events are helpful in maintaining our links with our substantial alumni base around the world, who hold fond memories of their time spent in Birmingham. They also reminds us that our educational contribution stretches well beyond the West Midlands.”

The BCU China Office is based in Shanghai and supports the University’s activities in China. Staff can contact the office via the University’s International Department.
