If you’ve never applied to university through UCAS before but want to apply to a course through Clearing, you can apply to us directly. We’ve created a step-by-step guide to walk you through this process.

1. Calculate your UCAS points to see which courses you can apply for.
2. Find the course(s) you want to study and apply online or give us a call. We can still process your application and make you a conditional offer without a UCAS account.
3. Our hotline call handlers will take you through the application form, make sure you have your details (name, address, email, phone number), the name of the course(s) you want to apply for and your results – both A-Level/BTEC/T-Level and your GCSEs or equivalents. Check out our advice for making the call if you’re feeling nervous.
4. If you meet the requirements for the course then you’ll be offered a place!
5. We will send you some additional details and another form you will need to fill in. You'll also need to send us proof of your results. We’ll give you detailed instructions to help you do this. We will then review your application to see if we can confirm your place or if we need further information from you.
6. We’ll change your application status to UF – which means you have accepted an unconditional firm offer to study with us. You'll receive an email confirming your acceptance of a place at BCU. You can then apply for accommodation if you're planning on living in student halls and start preparing for your time at uni!
7. If you’ve never applied for student finance, you need to apply right away. It's easy to apply and only takes around 30 minutes. Student Finance England will try to make sure you get some of your student finance as close as possible to the start of term, but the sooner you apply the better.
