International Students
Moving to a new country to take up a place at university can be a daunting prospect, which is why we provide you with a full range of support throughout your time at Birmingham City University.
Our dedicated team of International Student Advisors will be able to help you with all aspects of settling in to life in the UK and any problems you may experience.
These pages outline some of the areas we can offer support, including visa and immigration issues, a checklist of things you need to do in your first few weeks in the UK, and advice on dealing with the culture shock of moving to a new country.
Our International Student Advisors are part of the Student Services team, which offers advice and support to ALL our students on matters such as finance, health and wellbeing and careers and job prospects.
For further international student related advice contact Student Services Reception, who will refer you to a Help Zone Adviser.
International Admissions Handbook
If you need more information, or have been made a course offer, we recommend you download the University's International Admissions Handbook.
The handbook gives you more information about the University, the admissions process and what action you need to take after receiving an offer.
You will also find information on accommodation, obtaining entry clearance to the UK, the orientation programme and students support services.

Further information is available in our Student Visa and External Performances document and also on the University's international pages.
