Soloist, researcher and pedagogue Claude Delangle, one of the greatest contemporary saxophonists, stands out as the master of the French saxophone. He has collaborated with many renowned composers, including Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Toru Takemitsu and Astor Piazzolla, as well as the younger generation.
Since 1986 he has been a guest soloist with the Ensemble Intercontemporain. He has also appeared as soloist with the most prestigious orchestras, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, under David Robertson, Peter Eötvös, Kent Nagano, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Myung-Whun Chung.
After receiving several outstanding Premiers Prix at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, Paris, he was appointed professor in 1988, where he has created one of the most prestigious saxophone classes in the world.
