Dr Olufunmilayo Jinadu

Dr Olufunmilayo 'Funmi' Jinadu is a journalist and researcher with over a decade of experience working as a radio presenter, news editor and producer in the UK and Nigeria. She was also a multimedia journalist working across visual and audio online platforms.

She has a PhD in journalism from the University of Limerick, Limerick Ireland where she was also a journalism lecturer. Her PhD research takes a postcolonial perspective on the domestic and international media representation of Africa.

Her interests are in postcolonial, decolonial studies, critical discourse analysis and media literacy. She also has experience with using linguistics tools such as Corpus Linguistics for journalism research. Funmi is working on publishing journalism and media texts on alternative media approaches and news media representations of the Global South.
