Florence is an accomplished lecturer and expert in the field of digital forensics and cyber security. She currently serves as a Lecturer of Digital Forensics at Birmingham City University, having previously worked as a Lecturer of IT at Mzuzu University (2020-2022). Prior to her academic career, Florence held a prominent position as Principal Internal Auditor (IT) with the Government of Malawi's Central Internal Audit Unit, where she played a pivotal role in providing technical information security support during the implementation of the SAP integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS). Florence also served as an IT Auditor at the Ministry of Finance and The Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) as well as an Information security analyst at the Accountant General’s Department gaining valuable experience and expertise in the field.
Florence's expertise in information systems auditing, information security management, ethical hacking, and digital forensics has been instrumental in the design, implementation, and management of several government IT security projects. She holds a bachelor's degree in information technology from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic, and a Master of Science in Forensic Information Technology from the University of Portsmouth.
Florence's primary research interests include digital forensics, IoT Forensics, application of machine learning in cyber security, and information security and Information security Management.
