Olusegun received his PhD (Applied Thermal Fluid Sciences and Engineering Simulation) from University of Leeds after a successful viva at the prestigious Osney Thermofluids Lab (now Oxford Thermofluid Institute), University of Oxford.

He has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente (The Netherlands) and an MSc in Industrial and Production Engineering from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He obtained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ibadan.

Before transitioning to academia, Olusegun worked for over fifteen years in different industry sectors, including manufacturing, construction/built environment and research consultancy. He occupied positions such as Lead Research Engineer (Airedale International Air Conditioning Ltd), CFD Research Engineer (Procter & Gamble) and Mechanical Design/Project Manager (Ambient Project Services Ltd).

In these capacities, he developed novel thermal management products for comfort, process and datacentre applications; advanced modelling and simulation solutions for complex industrial mixing and filling processes; and mechanical building services and project supervision for buildings.

During this period, he gained extensive experience in research and development, consultancy, and project and team management, while working on several high-profile projects.

In 2019, he joined the University of Bolton to lead teaching at undergraduate (thermofluids and control systems, project and systems – for IMechE Design Challenge, etc.) and postgraduate (Integrated Management Systems) modules across mechanical, automotive and motorsport, and biomedical engineering. He enjoys CDIO (Conceive Design Implement Operate) and project-based approaches to teaching.

Olusegun is an assessor for EPSRC and FLF and a reviewer for top journals (for example, case studies in thermal engineering) and has published widely.
