In this new music double bill, the composition department are thrilled to continue their longstanding connection and collaboration with Timothy Lines (Clarinet), Rose Redgrave (Viola) and David Quigley (Piano) in exploring new sound worlds with thirteen new premieres across two concerts.
Our first concert will showcase new premieres from Esme Boyle, Elliot Facey, Max Knight, Laurence Horwood, Kat Hunt, Rebecca Arthur, and Jovita Smith, providing an exciting and eclectic variety of pieces that explore the diverse sound worlds of this unique chamber ensemble.
Then at 7.30pm, the trio will premiere the six brand new compositions that make up "Quiet Wild", a new album set for release with NMC in September that showcases the recent research from the composition department. Featuring works by Chloe Knibbs, Nicholas Olsen, Chang Ge, James MacIlwrath, Francesca Fargion, and Aidan Teplitzky, the album explores research including women in music, psychogeography, and memory.
With music exploring folklore, memory, and Kate Bush, this evening of new music is a celebration of the musical innovation of Birmingham's musical landscape.
