Dr. Yonghao (Leo) Wang is an esteemed academic with over 20 years of experience in the fields of Networking and Cybersecurity, with a special focus on blockchain technology and decentralised communication systems. His expertise also extends to Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for multimedia, as well as Cloud and Edge computing. Additionally, Dr. Wang is engaged in the research of knowledge science, exploring how advanced information systems can enhance the acquisition and application of knowledge across various domains.
He has made contributions across various research areas, including:
- The development of ethical and accessible blockchain technologies for inclusive finance and responsible AI.
- Computer networking and cloud/edge computing, with a particular focus on the application of AI/ML for network performance optimisation and automation.
- Time-deterministic systems and low-latency networking for beyond 5G wired and wireless communication systems.
- DSP for audio processing and video steganography, which incorporates the use of blockchain systems for multimedia applications.
Dr. Wang is interested in the use of these emerging technologies to promote fairness, transparency, and societal benefit, principles which underpin his ongoing research and academic contributions.
Dr. Wang also actively engages in the international standardisation community. He has contributed to numerous committees of global standardisation bodies, such as ETSI and AES standards. In addition, he has undertaken duties such as journal reviewer, guest editor, and conference chair, to contribute to the research community.
