Kiri joined BCU after working for the British Dietetic Association (BDA) as their Policy Officer for Professional Development. In this role she supported the dietetic profession across the UK in various aspects of professionalism, digitalisation and also led a key project on safe workload and safe staffing levels for NHS employed Dietitians.
Prior to working for the BDA, Kiri worked within the NHS from Dietetic Assistant to Specialist Dietitian level. Initially after qualifying as a Dietitian in 2009, she practiced in a range of disciplines in a rotational post within a large teaching trust in Birmingham before specialising in weight management services (namely supporting those on the weight loss surgery pathway). She also worked within bariatric services in the private sector. In her most recent NHS role, Kiri managed a community enteral feeding service, leading the team of dietitians to care for patients with complex oral feeding needs including those requiring enteral tube feeding.
Kiri is also a BCU and BDA media spokesperson and has an interest in ensuring that evidence based nutrition messages reach the masses to enable consumers to make accurately informed food and fluid based decisions.
Kiri has undertaken further study in Food Policy and Sports Nutrition and is a registrant of the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register.
