Avital began lecturing full time at BCU in 2023 whilst continuing to pursue her PhD in sport performance and the menstrual cycle. Her research focuses on the coach-athlete-parent relationship and aims to improve menstrual cycle support for female athletes at all ages, with an emphasis on raising younger generations with better opportunities to maximise their potential.
Alongside her BSc (Hons) in Sport Nutrition, a personal interest in weightlifting led her to gain a British Weight Lifting qualification. These underpin her teaching on a range of modules across numerous Sport and Exercise Science related courses.
A passion for all things female athlete, Avital holds the position of Webinar Host for the Women in Sport and Exercise Academic Network which strives to bring together academics and practitioners across a range of disciplines to grow the women in sport and exercise space.
