Laura joined Birmingham City University in 2019 and currently teaches on the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science undergraduate degree programme, primarily in sport and exercise psychology. Laura obtained her PhD in 2018 which explored the role of emotional abilities in elite sports coaching. Her main interests lie in the psychological factors that underpin performance in sport and coaching settings.
Laura also has a keen interest in applied practice and has experience providing psycho-education to coaches and athletes from various sports. Her PhD research involved the design, delivery and evaluation of a sports coach intervention programme focusing on emotional ability development.
Laura has been the editorial assistant for the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action (JSPA), since 2016. She is also currently completing her Academic Professional Apprenticeship/PGCert in Higher Education at Birmingham City University.
