I joined the ADD (Academic Development Department) and Birmingham City University in 2018 as a Foundation Year Lecturer. Since then he has been involved in the design and delivery of the Foundation Year programme for the faculty. The Foundation Year allows students to progress onto a number of HELS undergraduate courses. Previously Samuel worked in EDS as part of the Academic Practice team where he was involved in a number of staff development activities including the PG Cert programme designed for new academics.
Samuel’s main research interests are associated with student transition into HE and the challenges students from different educational backgrounds face during this transition. He is currently in the process of completing his EdD where the main focus is the transition of students who have previously completed vocational qualifications such as BTECs.
