Angela Kumah

With a background in clinical psychology, Angela has had the chance to work as a community support worker with a psychiatric hospital and in juvenile, drug and alcohol rehabilitation in her home country of Ghana. She has also had the opportunity to work in a palliative care unit with patients with Motor Neuron disease and their carers in Swansea, conducting cognitive assessments and shadowing members of the care team. Working with different groups of people from all walks of life has motivated Angela to look into ways to improve access to mental health care, especially for under-served populations. She hopes to conduct more research into accessible, culturally-sensitive therapies that will foster inclusiveness and enhance the quality of life for many.
