Henderson Bursaries and Scholarships Terms and Conditions - 2024/25 entry

These terms and conditions relate to the funding available in the 2024/25 academic year.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this funding, you must:

  • Secure a place on one of our Computing, Engineering and Built Environment degree courses starting in September 2024 (see ‘eligible courses’ below), studying full-time.
  • Be from a priority under-represented group: female and/or from a lower socio-economic background (i.e. be eligible for free school meals or from a lower income household).
  • Complete a scholarship application form by 11.59pm on Sunday 15 September 2024.

  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science

  • BSc (Hons) Computing and Information Technology
  • BSc (Hons) Cyber Security
  • BSc (Hons) Digital Forensics
  • BSc (Hons) Digital Media Computing
  • BSc (Hons) Music Technology
  • BSc (Hons) Sound Engineering and Production

Engineering

  • BEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering
  • BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering
  • BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

Built Environment

  • BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology
  • BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
  • BSc (Hons) Construction Management
  • BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
  • BSc (Hons) Real Estate

Excluded courses:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Courses delivered by BCU partners
  • Part-time courses
  • Sub-degree courses, such as foundation year entry and HNC/HND
  • Top-up courses

Payment of the scholarship

If allocated the scholarship, in order to receive the funds, you will need to:

  • Enrol onto an eligible course in September 2024. It will not be possible to defer your Henderson Bursary or Scholarship.
  • Provide your payment information to Finance by Friday 13 December 2024.

Please note: We are only able to award you one BCU scholarship, so if you are eligible for two scholarships we will automatically award you the larger of the two. This means that if you are awarded a Henderson bursary or scholarship and you were eligible for our Accelerate or High Achievers’ schemes, you will only receive your Henderson award.
