Industrial Advisory Group
Purpose of the Industrial Advisory Group
The Built Environment team at BCU has a remit and a desire to be externally facing, building strong links with industry and forming partnerships for mutual benefit.
We believe that industry is a key stakeholder in Higher Education and will increasingly have a say in the future of the University sector. We argue that industry can legitimately consider education as part of the supply chain, with the potential to improve industry competitive advantage.
We consult with our industry partners to ensure that our courses are providing the right blend of technical, cultural and personal skills that help to ensure industry is receiving the graduates it needs and that our graduates enter the job market with the correct training.
The Industrial Advisory Group also debates the wider issues of student funding, training methods and student employment. Some industry partners provide guest speakers for student lectures and site tours. Industry partners are also keen to explore student placements and internships.
