A School of Jewellery graduate, Kate went on to win the prestigious World Gold Council Gold Virtosi award in 2002. Her industry experience includes work as a Senior Designer for Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre, bespoke jewellery designer, consultant, designer and mentor.

Kate brings a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts to the course and is excited to get started:

The course will involve attending a key trade fair and retail events such as:

  • HKTDC – Hong Kong
  • Gems & Jewellery – Vicenza Italy
  • London Fashion Week.

You’ll be given a host of opportunities as part of this unique course. In your first year you’ll learn the history of jewellery, the principles of jewellery marketing and the principle strategies of jewellery business management.

In your second year you’ll continue to develop your marketing and management skills and learn about the challenges faced by international jewellery companies. You’ll have the choice of four modules so you can specialise depending on your own interest area. You could take part in a live project, or work placement, giving your CV added depth and colour.

 The third year will work on invaluable elements such as trend forecasting and entrepreneurship, practicing the skills that will help you in your future career in the industry. Academic and market research will teach you the tools, practices and skills needed to conduct reliable and relevant research to help your marketing and management decisions.

You’ll conclude the year with your Major Project, your chance to show what you have achieved on the degree and demonstrate your skills and talent to potential future employees around the world.
