Dr Randolf Cooper is Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences (BLSS). His role on the University Executive Team revolves around his job of leading BLSS through a transformational process aimed at bringing the faculty’s component parts into better alignment with Strategy 2030.

Randolf is a Professional Interim Executive in higher education and has worked in a dozen UK institutions since 2013. His assignments have included the University of Bath and King’s College London. Dr Cooper has served in both academic and professional service leadership roles overseeing a range of strategic initiatives from pedagogical innovation to campus infrastructure revitalization. His knowledge of operations management is underpinned by 21 years of experience in business and industry spanning England, Canada, and the USA.

Randolf earned his PhD at the University of Cambridge with a thesis focused on ‘Cross-Cultural Conflict Analysis’. He authored a study of the South Asian Military Economy for Cambridge University Press and was twice elected to the Board of the Royal Asiatic Society, where he was an active member of the Finance Committee.
