Institutional context

BCU’s approach to Knowledge Exchange is guided by our 2025 Strategy which places community at the core of our ambition; and our University for Birmingham mission, which reflects our role both as an anchor institution in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, but also as a civic university.

Our Institutional Context statement sets out the broad operational background and focus against which our knowledge exchange activity takes place. It explains how our activities are interlinked with our strategic approach; how we build on our history and academic strengths to address socio-economic need; and how our sense of place has ingrained a culture of public and community engagement.
