Alexander Stadium

The Commonwealth Games lit up Birmingham in the summer of 2022, with the eyes of the world on the West Midlands during a spectacular festival of sport and culture. And now, one of the most iconic venues from the Games has become our latest specialist space - as our Sports and Exercise Sciences courses move into the world-class Alexander Stadium.

The University has invested £5 million in developing space in both the East and West stands at the Stadium to house our specialist laboratories and other facilities, including bespoke learning spaces to offer our students the very best experience for their course. The stadium will include an environmental chamber, biomechanics lab and physiology labs alongside equipment including anti-gravity treadmills, all in a space which our academic staff have helped us to design.
