Maya Mistry

Maya’s role involves supporting students, academic colleagues and student monitors across the Art, Design and Media faculty. Through providing technical support and assisting with learning and teaching activities for our facilities: Creative Print, Photography, The Shell, TV and Radio Studios.

For Maya, acquiring new knowledge is inspiring, and is excited about the prospect that every day is different and can be challenging. As a creative person, the satisfaction from problem-solving and overcoming obstacles to achieve the best results motivates Maya, who finds it always rewarding.

Maya’s practise utilises a wide range of multidisciplinary processes and techniques from digital media, mixed media, installations, print and textiles. Her experiences in designing and making contemporary crafts has enhanced an understanding of a diverse scope of materials and technical skills; whether through experimenting with flat and sculptural forms; two and three dimensions; positive and negative spaces.
