Three things you'll get out of an Applicant Taster Day

Applied to study with us at Birmingham City University this September? You'll soon be invited to one of our Applicant Taster Days. Here's three things you'll get out of coming along and why it's worth it even if you've already been to an Open Day.

Dr Meghan Brown
Lecturer in sports and exercise nutrition

1) A deeper dive into student life

You'll get an in-depth experience of what it's like to study at BCU, including information about your chosen course, where your course can take you and student life.

2) Explore the facilities

You can also explore our campus, meet your future tutors and find out about additional support BCU can offer, including finance, mental health and wellbeing.

Top tip! Going to university to study one subject for three years is a big decision. So ask lots of questions o make sure you've chosen the right course for you and your career ambitions. We want you to get the most out of the day, so you can make an informed choice about whether BCU and your chosen course are right for you. Therefore, sessions will be informative as well as interactive and engaging, with opportunities to take part in activities related to your course.

3) Ask current students anything!

You'll have the opportunity to speak to our current students, which is great because they can provide answers to questions that academics might not be able to help with, for example with things like nightlife, accommodation and just generally what it's like to study on the course.

Bonus tip for sports students: Be prepared to come in your gym gear because it's going to be a great day for all. Get involved if there's a practical activity, we always ask for volunteers to get involved and so say yes.
