5 reasons why you shouldn't miss our Jewellery Open Day

Open Days at Birmingham City University are the ideal way to find out exactly what it's like to study Jewellery, Gemmology or Horology here.

They are a great opportunity for you to experience a little bit of life as a BCU student and come onto campus to find out more about what we have to offer.

Our internationally renowned Jewellery is the largest in Europe, with excellent facilities to develop your career in this exciting specialist sector. Don’t believe us? Here are five reasons why you shouldn’t miss our next open day:

See what's on offer

Explore our Vittoria Street building which hosts undergraduate courses including jewellery, silversmithing and horology. Here you'll find bright and versatile teaching and exhibition spaces, plus the tools and materials to help you hone your skills - studios and workbenches, industry-standard CO2 laser cutters, air torches and soldering tools.

The Birmingham Assay Office, which is state-of-the-art and opened in 2016, hosts our gemmology and international jewellery business undergraduate courses. Here students have access to the highest specification of equipment available for gemmological education within the UK, including plenty of microscopes, refractometers, and polariscopes and diamond grading lights.

Our new building in the historic St Paul’s Square offers a new postgraduate jewellery design and research facility, including an expanded library and computer suite.
