West Bromwich Albion Academy utilise BCU Sports Nutrition Facilities

Aspiring footballers from West Bromwich Albion's Academy recently had the opportunity to visit Alexander stadium, gaining hands-on experience with the sports nutrition facilities available.

West Bromwich Albion’s academy footballers recently visited the state-of-the-art facilities available at Alexander Stadium to focus on performance nutrition. This collaboration highlights BCU's ongoing commitment to utilising the university’s facilities for both the local community and top-level football academies like West Bromwich Albion.

Charlotte Campbell, West Bromwich Albion Football Club’s Academy Performance Nutritionist, spoke highly of the experience:

"As part of our player care programme and performance nutrition service at WBA academy and through the fantastic specialist space at BCU and Alexander Stadium we have been able to provide the opportunity for players to develop essential life skills not only as a professional athlete but for life beyond football. The facilities at BCU were first class and staff support was excellent. Additionally, players expressed that utilising this space further allowed them to focus on key performance nutrition strategies."

The visit not only showcased the exceptional resources available at Alexander Stadium but also reinforced the growing partnership between BCU and West Bromwich Albion.

BCU Associate Professor Neil Clarke reflected on the importance of this collaboration, stating:

"Things like this strengthen the links between West Brom and the university. This is a great opportunity for our students to grow their skills as practitioners and for the players to come and develop those additional skills that will hopefully benefit them from a performance and general lifestyle perspective".
